ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday assured Balochistan Assembly Speaker Rahila Hameed Durrani that the prosperity and peace in Balochistan was his government’s top priority.
Sharif, while talking to Rahila who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House, felicitated her on becoming the first woman speaker of the assembly.
The prime minister also lauded the civil and military departments for ensuring tranquility in Balochistan and hoped the authorities concerned would continue discharging their duties responsibly and honestly.
Rahila also appreciated the efforts made by the government for combating terrorism and other criminal activities in the country, saying the incumbent government had done a lot for security of the state. She also briefed the prime minister on the legislative procedure in the provincial assembly.

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said the development of Balochistan will remain a top priority of his government's agenda in the years ahead.
He was talking to Speaker Balochistan Assembly Ms. Rahila Hameed Durrani who called on him here at the PM House.
The Prime Minister said Balochistan was close to his heart and peace and prosperity of the Province has been top priority of the present government.
Sharif said peace in the Province has been restored due to commendable efforts of the civil and military Law Enforcement Agencies during the past three years. The Prime Minister said it was highly encouraging that a woman has been elected as Speaker of Balochistan Provincial Assembly for the first time.
Ms. Rahila Durrani thanked the Prime Minister for his keen interest in restoration of peace and putting the Province on the path of development. Ms. Durrani briefed the Prime Minister on the parliamentary and legislative proceedings in the Provincial Assembly.

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said the future of Balochistan was bright and a number of development projects were underway to bring Balochistan at par with rest of the country.
He was taking to former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali who called on him here at the PM House.
Matters related to development of the Balochistan province and welfare schemes for people were discussed.
The Prime Minister said besides maintaining peace and security, development and prosperity of the Province was on top priority of the government. He said the people of Balochistan have started reaping benefits of the ongoing develop.
