QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Saturday said that an all-parties conference (APC) would be held in the wake of the Mastung killings. The death toll rose to 22 as another body of an abducted passenger was found.
“We will bring the culprits to book,” said the CM at a press conference at CM’s Secretariat. He also said that he had spoken to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to convene the APC. Official sources said Nawaz and Malik made a telephonic contact and exchanged views on the carnage.
Nawaz asked the chief minister to further tighten security in Quetta. Dr Abdul Malik apprised Nawaz about security measures taken by the provincial government after the tragic incident.
During the conversation, they agreed to hold an APC over law and order situation in Balochistan next week. On the occasion, opposition leader Abdul Wassey termed the killings as a conspiracy against Pakistan.
He vowed to defeat the enemies of Pakistan. Wassey appealed to the PM and chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to take serious notice of the killings and take stern action against enemies of Pakistan.
